**Direct to lung Vaporiser
Eleaf is well known for their advanced devices but they have stuck to their philosophy of simplicity and performance.
I have been selling the iStick Pico 25 85w sub-ohm kit for a while now with plenty of satisfied customers. Eleaf seems to really love their Pico as they keep pumping out new version after new version. Different sizes, shapes, formats and even a variety of tanks but with one constant – good looking, technologically advanced, easy to use and reliable vaporisers.
I bring to you the latest in all things Pico – The 75w Pico X. I fell in love the moment I saw it (especially the Khaki Green). The perfect size for your hand – 50 x 31 x 112mm. I don’t usually comment on the feel of a mod, but I have to mention how silky smooth the body feels. This is due to the rubberised paint finish that Eleaf has used. Almost looks like the mod is wearing a wetsuit!
Like most other Picos the tank and battery access cap sit together along the top of the mod. A single 18650 rechargeable battery is required (not included) and the diameter of the tank is 22mm.
TIP: The Pico X comes complete with a USB Cable to charge your device, but it is always recommended that you charge your vape batteries using an external charger to ensure the longevity.
On the side of the Pico X you will find the 0.69″ OLED Screen with the following clearly shown..
- Battery indicator
- Puff Counter (can be altered to show time or voltage in menu)
The grooved (very nice feel to it) fire button is located above the screen with the charging port located below. To adjust your setting the 2 regulatory buttons (+/-) are located at the base of the unit.
Tried to do a little research on the chipset and can only report that it is a proprietary one. Eleaf never skimps out on safety though (please never buy a vape that doesn’t have your safety in mind) offering the following protections within the Pico X…
- Over charge protection
- Over discharge protection
- Over current protection
- Short circuit protection
- Reverse polarity
- Over 10 seconds protection
The Pico X supports both wattage (0.1Ω – 3.0Ω) and temperature control modes (0.05Ω – 1.0Ω), allowing you to easily chose between both. Nickel, Titanium and Stainless-Steel coils can all be used along with the standard variable wattage Kanthal coils (as long as they are appropriate for the model of course!).
TIP: Temperature control mode (for Ni, Ti and SS) is an advanced mode and should only be entered into if you are an advanced vaper.
The included 22mm Melo 4 sub ohm Tank can hold 2ml of your beloved e liquid and is filled via the top. A simple slide to fill, just find the arrow and slide the drip tip over to fill. A standard, wider bore 510 (removeable) drip tip will allow for an easy flow of vapour. The dual large air inlets (with stoppers) at the base of the tank allow optimal airflow for great vapour production. And the airflow is adjustable by turning the airflow control ring. The tank connects to your mod via the usual 510 connector pin (slight spring load).
TIP: Unfortunately die to the location of the battery cap a 22mm tank (and smaller) is all that will fit atop your Pico X.
Eleaf has decided to provide you with x2 of the same coil in this kit, EC–M 0.15Ω. The M stands for mesh, a new style of mesh according to Eleaf. Mesh is said to provide a larger surface area for heating resulting in faster heating, intense flavour and rather large clouds.
|EC-M 0.15Ω – Kanthal Mesh||30-75W|
As Eleaf likes to cater to the beginner they have included a new intelligent coil protection function. Basically, if you have your wattage set to a high level and you screw on an atomiser it will recommend a safe setting according to what is detected from the coil. A nice little feature that keeps you and your coils safe.
To use: Priming your new coil is the first task for any new coil/vaporiser and this is no exception. Priming helps to protect your coil and yourself from dry hits or a burnt horrible taste. Unscrew the tank for the mod (510 threaded) and unscrew the base of the tank from the glass to expose the coil within (use a paper towel/rubber gloves if difficult to unscrew). You now need to saturate the cotton within the coil with a little e juice (few drops). Reassemble your tank and screw back onto your mod. Slide open the drip tip and dribble in a little more e-juice just to ensure complete saturation. Place your device to the side for a short while (10-15 minutes) to allow all the e -juice to make its way through. Now time for the primer puffs – without touching the firing button take a few sharp short pulls from the tank. You may see air bubbles rising to the top of the tank. Your new coil is now ready for use.
If you haven’t already done so insert your single 18650 battery (probably will work better if charged!) by screwing off the battery cap and inserting positive side down. 5 presses of the fire button to power on (and off). Once on, the screen will default to variable wattage, +/- buttons can be used to modify wattage if needed (important to ensure you are within recommended range). For beginners this is as far as you need to venture with your settings to vape safely. Once you feel more confident you can play around and explore the rest of the modes/menu.
TIP: Holding down both the + and – button together will lock your device whilst still allowing you to vape!
X3 clicks of fire button (once on) to enter into the various modes (+/- to cycle through); Wattage, Bypass, Temperature Ni, Temperature Ti, Temperature SS, Temperature M1, Temperature M2, Temperature M3 and then back to Wattage.
TIP: To change wattage whilst in temperature control mode x4 clicks of fire button.
To enter into the menu system, hold down the + and fire button together. A variety of icons will appear on screen allowing you to modify your Pico X. Your included instruction manual will have a breakdown of each function.
