From the first day I opened my store I have had questions and requests about the Magical Butter botanical extractor, the original and now the new version 2. Boasting of being the world’s first countertop botanical extractor and with their reputation I wouldn’t doubt it! A good-looking unit (stainless steel pitcher) that will sit nicely in your kitchen or is small enough to stow away easily.

MB2E FEATURES

Fully automated from start to finish – this really is an easy, safe and mess free way to extract/infuse oils/butter with your favourite medicinal botanical. There isn’t much this baby can’t extract and is used by professional chefs, caterers and foodies worldwide. The Magical Butter 2 (MB2e) truly is magic and can infuse herbs into:

A ring of LED Lights encircles the top of the unit, not just pretty to look at they also serve a purpose – informs the user of the machines operating status. The lights have been quite cleverly placed in such a way that they reflect off a dark ceiling, so you need not be right by the unit to keep track. As the machine is exceptionally quiet (when not stirring or blending) the LED Lights constantly and silently indicate that the cooking cycle is proceeding as usual. The unit will beep, and lights will automatically shut off at the end of your cycle.

The MB2 does all the hard work for you, even grinding your herb (place whole flower into the chamber)! It will also stir and steep your ingredients, all at the correct time intervals and temperature. All program sequences are controlled via a microprocessor, resulting in even and consistent heating. An immersion blender with an integrated digital thermometer and sensors bring you laboratory grade temperature controls.

The lid mounted control panel has 5 programming options – a 1-hour cycle for making oil (cooking oil), a 2-hour cycle for making butter, a 4-hour cycle for extracting tincture, a general 8-hour timer, and a self-cleaning mode. A default has been set for each various cycle but if you want to intensify your results simply extend your extraction time by selecting a longer cycle.

TIP: Lecethin is an emulsifier that acts to bind ingredients and increases the potency of your preparations. Not necessary but highly recommended.

2-5 cups (475ml – 1180ml) of infusion can be achieved per cycle depending on ingredients used. Each cycles duration is dependant on the base being used. A minimum of 2 cups must be used.

TIP: Depending on the type of herb you are using, you may need to decarb first to release the full potential/potency of the plant. Magical Butter also has a Decarb Box/Thermometer Kit (substantially reduces odour), that I also stock. Culinary herbs (Basil, Lavender etc) are also more flavoursome when dried (not decarbed) first prior to infusion.

DIY DECARB INSTRUCTIONS

• Preheat oven to 120°C
• Place your botanical into a covered baking dish in centre of oven for 25-30 minutes.
• Remove from oven and leave to cool – can be placed in fridge to speed up process
• Once cooled can be used within the Magical Butter machine.
• ** Warning – This process will be very odorous!

INCLUDED ACCESSORIES

LoveGlove™ – Used during the straining process at the end of a cycle. Think of this as your protection. Made from 100% premium grade silicone and designed to stop you burning your hand when pouring your infusion out from the pitcher into the filter. Place on the hand holding the filter, whilst your other hand holds the MB2 handle.

PurifyFilter™ – This is a vital part of the infusion process and helps to purify your oil by thoroughly removing all plant material. Designed to allow oil to flow through whilst separating the sediment. **Never place filter inside the device, Both the blades and filter will be damaged.
