Vessel Pipe
Vessel Pipes & Smoking Accessories
Vessel focuses heavily on engineered airflow, premium materials and products that can be taken apart for easier maintenance. Across the range you’ll find materials such as borosilicate glass, non-toxic brass and anodized aluminium, along with distinctive features such as Vessel’s double-helix airflow system. The collection ranges from compact one-hitters through to full-size hand pipes and the Element water bubbler.
The Vessel Element is a compact water-filtered pipe designed specifically for dry herb. Unlike a conventional one-piece glass bubbler, Element combines borosilicate glass with brass and anodized aluminium components and separates into six pieces. Water filtration helps cool the draw, while the removable construction makes the internal areas much easier to reach when cleaning.
The Element has a bowl capacity of up to approximately 2 grams of dry herb, making it the highest-capacity smoking piece among the Vessel products covered here. For the water chamber, Vessel recommends starting with the glass basin filled to slightly below halfway, then adjusting the level to suit your preferred draw.
Forge takes a different approach from Vessel’s metal pipes by using heat-resistant borosilicate glass as its main body. Its standout feature is the removable silicone base, which opens the bottom of the pipe for easier access during cleaning while also helping protect the glass and the surface beneath it. The body is shaped to sit naturally in the hand.
Capacity depends on the Forge version. The original Forge Black holds up to approximately 0.5 grams, while the newer Forge Emerald and Forge Lilac have deeper bowls capable of holding up to around 1 gram. This makes the colour/version worth checking if bowl capacity is important to you.
The Forge is primarily a borosilicate-glass hand pipe with a removable silicone base, making it a good choice for people who prefer the feel and flavour characteristics of glass. The Vessel Pipe, sometimes searched for as the Vessel Helix hand pipe, uses non-toxic brass and anodized aluminium and incorporates Vessel’s double-helix airflow design. Both are reusable dry-herb pipes, but their construction and smoking style are quite different.
The larger Vessel hand pipe is currently sold by Vessel as the Pipe, although shoppers often associate it with the Helix name because it incorporates Vessel’s double-helix technology. It has a classic hand-pipe format, a bowl capable of holding up to approximately 1 gram, and a three-piece design that can be disassembled for cleaning.
Vessel Helix, Cone & Airflow Technology
Instead of sending the draw through a simple straight passage, the double-helix design creates a longer, more controlled airflow path. This is intended to help cool the draw before it reaches the mouthpiece and to reduce the amount of loose material travelling through the pipe. Vessel uses variations of this concept in the Pipe, Helix One-Hitter and Cone.
The original Helix/One-Hitter is a compact, predominantly brass design with a bowl holding roughly 0.2–0.3 grams. The Cone has a tapered shape inspired by the proportions of a rolled joint, uses an anodized-aluminium exterior and offers a slightly larger capacity of approximately 0.3–0.4 grams. Both incorporate Vessel’s double-helix airflow concept, but the shape, feel and bowl size are different.
No. Vessel’s Helix One-Hitter and Cone are designed to operate without a traditional carb hole. You load the bowl, apply the flame and draw through the mouthpiece rather than controlling airflow with a side carb as you would on many conventional hand pipes.
Vessel advises against using torch-style lighters with these products. A conventional flame lighter is the better choice. Excessively concentrated heat can expose the finish and components to temperatures beyond what is necessary for normal dry-herb use.
Cleaning, Grinding & Choosing the Right Vessel Product
Separate the Element into its removable components before cleaning. The washable parts can then be cleaned using isopropyl alcohol and warm water, followed by wiping and rinsing as required. Its six-piece construction is particularly useful because it gives access to areas that are difficult to reach in many traditional glass bubblers.
Allow the piece to cool completely before cleaning it. Disassemble the removable components and use isopropyl alcohol to loosen accumulated residue; Vessel also recommends salt as part of the cleaning process. Clean in shorter soaking periods rather than leaving finished components submerged overnight, then wipe and repeat if necessary.
The Vessel Mill is a compact three-piece aluminium dry-herb grinder with a magnetic lid, textured grip and genuine wood detailing. Vessel designed it for a relatively fine, consistent grind and lists its working capacity in approximately the 0.5–1 gram range. At about 55.5 mm across, it is compact enough for portable use while still providing enough grinding area for everyday preparation.
It depends on how you prefer to use dry herb. Choose the Element if you want water filtration and a larger bowl; the Forge if you prefer a glass hand pipe that is especially accessible for cleaning; the Pipe/Helix Hand Pipe if you want a substantial reusable metal hand pipe; the Cone if you want a slim one-hitter with a slightly larger bowl and tapered shape; or the Helix Metal One-Hitter if maximum compactness and durable brass construction are priorities. The Mill Grinder complements any of them by preparing dry herb before loading.
